Board of Alderman

  • Donny Hibdon, Alderman North - My name is Donny Hibdon and I am currently serving as the North Ward Alderman.  I am a lifelong resident of this area and am honored to have the opportunity to serve the people of the community.  I have always held jobs serving the public and enjoy working and interacting with the people in this area.  I am a hard-working and motivated individual, and I feel that these skills enable me to be a valuable contributor to the City of Versailles.  I ran for this position because the thought of assisting in community matters and working to make decisions to help the people appealed to me and my beliefs.  I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the City of Versailles.

  • Jane Bolton, Alderwoman North - A native of Versailles, I have been active in the community for a number of years.  I served on the Apple Festival Committee for years, the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, and Versailles Hometown Beautification.  I decided to run for Alderperson to help make our city a better place to live and raise our children.  I was voted into office in April 2002.  I can't say this has been an easy job because it hasn't.  It takes a lot of time and patience to fulfill the job.  I think the one thing that stands out is that I like getting to know all the employees of the city and talking with them about their wants, needs, and concerns.  Sometimes all we can do is listen, but that gives us an idea of what we need to accomplish.  There are so many interesting things that our City is involved in and does that there is no end to learning and trying to understand all the ways that things work such as the water system, sewer system, police and city workers.  I have tried to learn what I can from each department to help me in making the right decisions at the council meetings.  None of our employees are any different or better than the others and are all very important to making things work.  I do think there are more things we can do to improve the city and still would like to see more annexing done in the future.  Right now we are working on a huge sewer project and although it seems to the people that we are dragging our heels, we are following all the rules and regulations to take care of this problem.  It just takes time.  These are just a few things that I have touched on.  Please feel free to attend our Council meetings and to ask questions.  I am here to help and listen to you and will try to help.

  • Joann Mayor, Alderwoman South - I was born and raised in Versailles and graduated from VHS.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in education from CMSU.  I married Walt Mayor, my late husband of 35 years, and have two daughters and four grandchildren.  Having spent most of my life as a wife, mother, teacher and realtor I am now retired and have time to devote to our community and work on making Versailles the best it can be and a great place to live.  I have compassion for people and our community and promise to always have an open ear and time for your concerns.  I taught school for 13 years in elementary education. I obtained my real estate license and sold real estate for 22 years.  My history of working in real estate has involved contact with City Halls in many different cities, involving a wide range of issues.  I believe my past experience can be an asset to the council.  I am always here for you, the citizens of Versailles, and will always listen and try to help you. I am a team player and will always bring problems before the Council.  Just remember it takes four council people to make it happen but I will be your voice!  Phone calls are welcome 378-4331.

  • Amy Hibdon, Alderwoman South - I was raised just outside of Versailles.  I attended Morgan County R-ll Schools.  I graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.  I am employed at Morgan County R-II Schools in Versailles as a Special Education Teacher in the Elementary School.  I have lived in downtown Versailles for 14 years.  I have four sons.  I have been on the City Council for two years and believe Versailles is a great place to live and raise kids.
